General:
Paul Kowalski did a fantastic job on our shower renovation. It is both beautiful and highly functional. All the wall tile grout lines are aligned, all the tiles lie flat in every direction, and the foundation underneath is guaranteed to be water and vapor proof for a minimum of ten (10) years.
I am extremely happy that I chose Paul for our project. He was meticulous, paid attention to every detail, and took his time to make certain that everything was done perfectly. One of the most important things was he showed up on time every day, spent time to protect our home from the project debris, and cleaned up after each day’s work. He listened to everything that we wanted and then made that his mission to provide.
If you’re reading this, I was very leery to hire anyone after watching all the home improvement show disasters. I got a number of quotes, and found that shower and bathroom renovations are expensive. My main fear was hiring a company or individual who would make promises, take the money, and do either a poor job or leave it to me to complete. As an avid do-it-yourselfer, senior journeyman furniture maker, computer network designer, and project manager who has managed hundreds of projects, built most of the furniture in our house, laid over 3000 square feet of tile flooring and 2000 square feet of wood flooring, redesigned our kitchen island, and completed the countertops and backsplash, I could have done the shower myself. I just didn’t want to do all the hard work.
I know how meticulous I am and how precise you have to be to build high quality hardwood furniture, but Paul made me look and feel like an amateur. I found his attention to detail and precise execution of the shower plan to be beyond what I expected, but definitely what I’d hoped to obtain.
I obtained Paul Kowalski’s contact information from the WEDI regional representative after researching the three main systems used today as the foundation for tile showers: 1) Traditional concrete pan with membrane and concrete board walls, 2) The Schluter KERDI systems, and 3) The WEDI System.
The WEDI System uses waterproof extruded polystyrene foam boards, reinforced with fiberglass mesh on both sides that is coated with synthetic polymer resin mortar. Everything is designed to provide a strong foundation for tile and it is the only system that is 100% water and vapor proof. It also comes with a 10 year guarantee.
Bottom Line: If you want a super high quality shower renovation, hire Paul Kowalski and have him install a WEDI shower system for you.

So many people say "no job is too small" yet when contacted for smaller jobs they don't follow through. I started with Paul on a small job: making minor repairs in the bathroom in a rental property. As a 75+ old retired USAF fighter pilot, I want to give a shout out to Paul Kowalski, 'Do-It-Right Remodels' who converted my tub/shower into a walk-in tiled shower for my handicapped wife. In recent years past, I built a half bath (commode and lavatory) in one of our bedrooms for my aged mother, built a 750 sq. ft. two-level deck, and a 13X14X40 ft. metal RV shed, complete with 50 amp electric service to protect my motor coach when not 'on-the-road'.
Most recently my wife's lack of mobility required that we remove the tub/shower in our bathroom and provide a walk-in shower with a fold down teakwood bench and multiple hand holds to enhance her safety. As father time has caught up with me, I selected 'Do-It-Right Remodels' to perform this professional task. Paul is the only guy who could do the job the way I used to do it for myself. If you need 'professional' help I unequivocally recommend Paul as 'your man'.
